  1. Right? Luckily to replace that place in my heart a 3rd century BC NGC Slabbed Celtic imitation of the Chios mint, of Alexander III’s AR Drachm’s is inbound. Actually kind of filling two places in my heart Celtic & Greek history at the same time 😎
  2. It’s supposedly from around 172-145 B.C. & a Greco-Bactrian coin of Eucratides I and I’ve been told it's fake and from what I've read it's a seemingly correct diagnosis, just wanted another opinion and was wondering if by the look of it alone you can tell it's fake
  3. Thanks tom :-) I personally figured either islamic or some sort of small crusader state coin, hopefully someone who knows will come along
  4. Right, I've been taking it extremely slow and will continue to as I learn the process, it would be awesome if there are people here who have experience cleaning I'd love to talk to them
  5. Awesome thanks for putting me ahead of the curve, so with my other indian coins
  6. I didn't say they were fresh from a dig I said I bought a lot of uncleaned coins. I don't know the how man like I said, I bought a lot of like 40 or so ancient uncleaned coins, does it matter? As I've cleaned them I've spotted a few roman coins with details starting to emerge, can't wait to get all them finished but it'll take awhile as I don't wanna cause unnecessary and stupid damage to them trying to rush the process while I'm still learning
  7. On 10/4/2021 at 6:18 PM, J P Mashoke said: I totally get where you’re coming from but you misunderstand, this isn’t a coin I got in a lot that I personally thought was dirty. This was a lot of coins that were completely raw out of the earth and have tons of build up on them. Since I’m no expert in cleaning all I’ve been using thus far is distilled water soaking and sometimes using a toothbrush to gently take of the dirt.. and luckily this guy’s dirt build up came off super easy the first day I started
  8. also, after reading JKK’s post about right and wrong ways to post I realize I shouldn’t have made a second thread and will remember it
  9. Agreed I honestly figured the answer would be that they’re too small to figure, but I still figured id ask
  10. This silver coin came out of a lot of uncleaned coins that I’ve started to try and clean.. slowly and carefully. Was wondering if anyone can identify where this coin is from? For some reason i’ve been super intrigued by the coin since I got the dirt off Edit: Weight - 1.1 grams Diameter - still looking for something on hand to measure with
  11. Here are the reverses to the coins posted in my first thread. 1st pic: Indian Gold Bele Reverse 2nd pic: Indian Tipu Sultan Reverse
  12. I know nothing about these coins as they came extra in a sale of a lot of coins I bought. Are they even genuine? I also have another gold Indian coin & few more silver Indian labeled coins as well Edit: I miss posted and posted the obverse of two coins instead of the reverse for one of them. Another thread with the reverse will be made
  13. Awesome. I'll post a starter thread, the coins I'm gonna start off asking about are in the type of coin holder that is two pieces of cardboard stapled together with a plastic middle to see the coin, and they are labeled some in more detail than the others but even with the label I still know next to nothing about them like their grade, authenticity etc. I've got indian, a few ancient greek, and coins vaguely labeled "roman provincial" & "byzantine" I'll start with a few threads like JKK said, I'll be uploading here soon. I'm extremely eager to learn as much as I can
  14. There could have absolutely been some good private discussion, but instead you made it your mission to try and take me down publicly for a newb post, so we're here lmao. Like I said, later
  15. nah man I read the comment. Why don't you just leave me and the OP be. You've made your point loud and clear. "My OP is full of red flags, I'll be a terrible seller and will probably ruin someone's passion for coin collecting!" and trying to backtrack is just lame, so, later.
  16. Goodbye and good riddance. I'd much rather engage with someone offering help, which I never said I expected for free like you (again) incorrectly ASSUMED.
  17. and I will 100% empirically be a bad seller correct? It's sweet you can see the future
  18. something I could do myself, like I didn't know about the websites you just mentioned? other than wildlands which was posted earlier. Why couldn't you have just said go pawn through aorta and wildwinds yourself? wouldn't that have been easier? lmao
  19. Never said ya did, I said your ridiculous incorrect assumptions have put me off to these forums and this community. So you've actually managed to hamper someone else's love for collecting just by that, remember what you said to me and hampering someone and their collecting? Why don't you go think about THAT for a minute just like you told me, "your screw-up impacts another person who may be put off of coins forever because of their bad experience" and go on your business? because I actually dwelled on what you said, later
  20. Again, I never said anything about making a buck, but you sure keep saying it. I was told to come here for literally every question I could think of so I made the OP. I really don't care about your opinion that I'll "mess up" selling coins, everyone messes up when they're starting something new, but to try and say I might ruin someone else's love for the hobby? That's quite a stretch. Secondly, read my OP again.... WHICH PART of my op am "I absolutely asinine, rude, thoughtless and pretty arrogant" because to me it looks like I'm just asking for some help from the people I was told to go to lmao. I clearly state "but if anyone has the knowledge can we get in touch?" that was directed at people wanting to help me, not yours or anyone else's antagonistic opinions on why my post "threw up red flags." NGC has a great reputation about this stuff and the help they give, but I won't be on here again after the ridiculously assumptive and and incorrect OPINIONS about me personally or the idea I had and decided to follow for reselling my own collection. I'll do it all on my own and wait 10 years before I resell anything just like you big guy, you are now my idol and I shall follow your business model as closely as possible! Funny part is I WOULD have paid you for knowledge LMAO! I didn't expect anything for free, another one of your assumptions. You've been super helpful, thank you
