  1. NGC just finished my latest submission today, and here is one of the coins, it is my oldest foreign coin. (my oldest coin period). It was given to me free as a gift with one of my purchases. I had one more spot on my submission form so I figured why not. 1863 Great Britain Penny
  2. The final result is complete. MS64 is the grade and I'm very happy with that, definitely above my exceptions!
  3. Yes unfortunately 2 were downgraded. On the upside though, the 1980F did improve from PR68 to PR68UC. And yes, I crossed them over for registry competition. Feel free to check them out.. https://www.ngccoin.com/registry/competitive-sets/443576/ https://www.ngccoin.com/registry/competitive-sets/443575/
  4. They have it identified, must have been the first one they seen, it was previously described as X Germany X. Unfortunately they call it Silver and it’s not silver, unless silver has become magnetic.
  5. Just received my coins back and pretty happy with the results. l’m curious though, does NGC notify PCGS when they crossover coins (and visa versa) to update census and remove serial numbers from being active?
  6. Just wanted to provide an update for anyone who saw my original question. The coins were finished and shipped back yesterday. Very happy with the results! You can view them at https://www.ngccoin.com/registry/competitive-sets/374867/
  7. It is a beauty, some I see are nicely toned, and then others, like the one I own, looks as white as the day it was minted.
  8. Just received the coin back today. It still has the same certification number, but the label description is now correct. Now the only thing is for it to be updated in the registry database so I can add to my set. (it let me add the submission number of the coin 2896131-001, which was the form I used to submit it for the label correction.
  9. One thing to note, PCGS has 3 versions of the X-1 https://www.pcgs.com/valueview/pattern-unusual-coins-1919-1933/1927-d-5-mk-x-1-silver/3667?sn=515599&h=pop https://www.pcgs.com/valueview/pattern-unusual-coins-1919-1933/1927-d-5-mk-x-1-silver-sm-bayer/3667?sn=838169&h=pop https://www.pcgs.com/valueview/pattern-unusual-coins-1919-1933/1927-d-5-mk-x-1-silver-lg-bayer/3667?sn=838170&h=pop
  10. the 2 in my original post are the exact same on the back, which is different than the enlarged one that RWB just posted. Kienast-386 is first and X-1 is the second one
  11. The Hindenburg medal by Karl Goetz is sometimes labeled X-1 Silver and other times Kienast-386. Why is there 2 different names for the same thing, or are they labeled different for some reason I'm not noticing? If so, what? I've seen this on both NGC and PCGS. Couple examples:
  12. I have sent an email. Thank you for the assistance.
  13. My coin is incorrectly attributed and mislabeled. I am not the original owner of this coin, but purchased it about 1 1/2 years ago. It should be Third Reich and not Republic. I'm not concerned about the label being corrected on the slab, but it should be corrected in your census database and in the registry database.
  14. Just a quick followup... Would I need to sign and enclose the "CONSENT TO REMOVE COIN(S) FROM HOLDER(S)" waiver?
  15. Would I be able to submit these coins for grading in the original mint plastic case, or would I have to remove the coins myself and place into mylar flips?
  16. I sent off the medal along with other coins to NGC earlier this week. I'll report back on what they do with it. Thanks for the help!
  17. Would a medal like this be eligible for grading and escapsulation? The box is in-scripted "Medallic Art Co. New York" I obtained it awhile back on the cheap and would love to preserve it as a keepsake.
  18. I agree. The time from when they receive it and open it has been steadily increasing the last 2 months. Fortunately, not as bad as January, mine was almost a month before they opened it.
  19. For the last 3 submissions of mine, I have valued my coins based on the combined cost of acquiring and grading of each coin.
