  1. The next time reach out to me if I’m not interested I will refer you with a letter of introduction to an authorized US Mint bullion buyer who will be. They’re located in the US
  2. That’s changing because the silver bullion secondary market has dried up. For the last two years most bullion sales have been new product. Since people are not selling some distributors are now offering $6.00 over spot for ASE’s to satisfy demand. Of course, the down side is the ask price premium is in the range of $11 to $18 over spot.
  3. I like the three 1936 Rhode Island commemorative half dollars and the 1920 Maine Centennial half dollar. The Maine half compliments my Peace Dollar collection. It was engraved Anthony de Francisci from sketches.
  4. I have one autographed 2015 ASE by Pedro Martinez. This is the year he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. A Mercanti might be nice on a 2021 Type 1 ASE. Other than that I see no increase in value with such autographed ASE’s except you pay a lot more for 1 oz of silver.
  5. Current bid price on common dates is 30.25, 1996 wholesale is 70. Premiums on ASE’s are skyrocketing, You could sell common dates on ebay for 35-42, investor / collector may be willing to pay up to 38 each.
  6. Yes, that’s my concern the 1996 ASE is the key date. It’s not just bullion as the retail cost is approximately silver spot price plus $52 premium. The toning bothers me.
  7. Just purchased a tube of 1996 American Silver Eagles. Of the 20 bullion coins one (1) is toned/tarnished along the entire edge. No other coins were effected. The outlier was located in the middle of the tube, obviously the tube had been opened at some point and the coins randomly replaced in tube. To what extent does this alter value? Is cleaning an option, perhaps dipping in xylene?
  8. Yes, both the 2021 ASE Type 1 and Type 2 are struck in opposite directions on the obverse and the reverse.
  9. NGC graded 130,266 American Silver Eagles dated 1996 with the lions share at MS69. I would like to know if there is any way to find out the total number of coins submitted but were not specifically graded although placed in holders marked BU.
  10. Thank you. I’ve never seen rim toning in a gold color before. The pics are not edited. It is a bright gold that seems to frame the proof like qualities of the coin and increase the eye appeal.
  11. Just picked this up, it has very attractive eye appeal. However, I would like to know what caused the gold colored toning around the edge on both the obverse and reverse. Any Ideas?
  12. Too many counterfeit coins from China. Rule of thumb: Morgan’s will not sell for less than the silver melt value plus a premium. Sorry this happened to you. Seen a lot of these lately. Do you have any recourse to get your money back?
  13. I went to the USPS and used the tariff number for coins and metal which they promptly refused to ship. Could you tell me what you use for a description and tariff number in the customs form. The value of the Morgan is $185.00 . Thank you
  14. Need some help how do you ship (legally) numismatic coins to the UK from the USA when USPS won't ship collectible coins internationally? Hope someone out there knows how to do this. I note dealers on MA-Shops are required to ship worldwide there must be a way. Thanks.
  15. My understanding is most of the 35,401 were destroyed and only a few matte proof still exist. Need to research more🧐
  16. Thanks Lisa B. I appreciate your taking the time and that of others to review my slab.
  17. Traveling this week will post side view pictures over the week end. Thanks
  18. It would appear the re-holder charge is $13 USD plus $10 handling fee plus shipping. This is providing it is currently in an NGC slab
  19. I purchased this with a number of other slabs. Upon examining it, the corners and sides just didn’t look or feel right. It came from a reputable dealer. My first thought was the coin is either counterfeit or was substituted with another coin. I don’t know. Should I send it in to be reslabbed and/or graded?
  20. I posted this on Ask NGC, however, I was curious what other people thought. As this is a 2008 ASE I’m not sure if there were obvious slab defects when grading and slabbing done long ago. My original post is: “Unfortunately I only have front view of slab. Side edges are not smooth, but has areas that are rough as if it was melted. Frontal view has noticeable cloudy ares on left and right sides. Could this have been tampered with? ”

  22. PF70 is not a guaranty for any proof from any mint. There may be minor or slight imperfections on the coin that would not make it qualify as a PF70 . It should be gem quality so I usually look for them to be in the range of PF65 to PF70
