  5. I have a Japan one Yen Silver Coin. I cannot figure out the year of the letters on the obverse of the coin. any help would be appreciated it. Thank you.

  8. This is my first half-cent that i come across. The "L" is a little bit off when i researched and compare with other pictures on my, red book and NGC Coin explorer. Is the half cent genuine or non-genuine?
  9. I will do my best JKK. My father introduced me to the hobby it a 1oz silver kookaburra and a silver eagle. I understand that counterfeiters are really good at making fake merchandise been seeing that around in the 2000s and till present day from working at my father's business career. I had one customer brought in a fake Morgan dollar that was graded Ms-63 and it turn out to be fake after we did some research and ask a couple of friends we know. Nonetheless i appreciate it.
  10. Thank you JKK i understand it now, I will do that from now on. i will create each coin from there own separate thread. One question JKK do you guys recommend a book for beginners watching out for counterfeits? I'm still new to the hobby and i have blue and red books 2020.

  12. Sorry for the pictures being side-ways. Well another coin into my fake coins album. I have some other coins that i have a hard time as well going over. I will post it here because it's my first time seeing them.
  13. After looking the penny's Mint-mark is a little close to the number 9. I'm having a hard time if the penny is real or fake. I weight the penny on my scale and it turned out to be 3.1g. Any insight would help i appreciated it.
  14. Yes 40% is what i expected for this.The customer went to another coin dealer to have it checked out. They did the test and it came out 90% as well after the test they were hesitant of taking it in.
  15. This Coin came to my shop a few days back and i tested it with a sigma metalytics verifier. I have it run at 90% percent Because the customer told me it's 90%. and it passed which surprised me a bit. I searched on my red book for more information and only i come across is clad Eisenhower dollars.
  16. $20.00 Lesson learned. This one caught me off guard because of the weight. Going to keep this coin in my fake coin album so i do not make a mistake like this again.
  17. I try the magnet test and a sigma metalytics machine. First the magnet did not pick up the morgan.Second the machine verified it is silver.
  18. This Morgan dollar weights very light when i picked it up. I try comparing with my other Morgan dollars for reference. here some pictures front and back of the dollar.
