  4. I find it really pleasurable to immediately find the coin that was on my mind. I found this Turban Head at an antique shop in a jar of older cents. Sent it in and got a XF45 BN grade. I was hoping for a 50.

  6. I found this coin yesterday. A simple and beautiful coin from the PI.
  7. I started collecting coins when I was a kid and we were stationed in Fort Gulick, Panama Canal Zone (1971-1973). I got a Proof set and a Mint State set of coins and I was addicted. I still have those Panamanian coins today. Now, I collect most every American coin. I love the history. The art. The periods of time. Everything.
  8. Just picked up this up for a really good deal. Instantly became one of my favorites, in hand.

  10. I think both are countefeit. The placement of the stars on the obverse are not where they should be, just glancing.

  15. Interesting. I am just starting to collect Franklin half dollars. I am not familiar with VEDS Franklin's but I would appreciate if you could maybe post a picture or two and show me. Is there a reference that you could recommend, or is that what you are trying to establish?
  16. That's very interesting. My family lived in Buenos Aires in 1970-1972. My father was attached to the embassy there. He was the Army Aviation Advisor to their fledgling Army Air Corps. I was only 5-7 so my memories are fading, but Buenos Aires was a very beautiful, clean city. Thanks for sharing!
