Leave them in the ANACS holders, no need to spend money on getting them regraded.

“ California Job Case”, haven’t heard that term in a while. Reminds me many years ago when I first started out in printing setting type by hand from such a case. Then along came computerized typesetting and they went the way of the do-do bird.  I used to have one on my wall, they made great small ornament racks.

It is impossible to have a letter below the date appear during the minting process.
What you have is a plating bubble, common with zincoins.

    Have seen this many times.
Put some glue on a coin and press another one onto it. Should come off with acetone unless you want to leave it.

Definitely a Chinese counterfeit. A Double Struck coin would only have one riim.
    This coin shows two rims.

Greenstang got a reaction from Henri Charriere in 1941 p wheat cent multiple errors
    Welcome to the Chat Board
It has a value of 1 cent.
There is nothing on that coin that constitutes an error. It is all just damage
Once I saw “ multiple errors”, I knew what to expect. It is hard enough to find
a coin with a single error, let alone multiple ones. Suggest you read up on
what a actual error really is so you can save yourself time as about 99% of
coins with anomolies are damaged, not errors. It is only an error if it happens.
during the striking of the coin. Anything that happens after that is damage.
A good site to start with is “error-ref.com”

Surprisingly, NGC has certified 214 1937S nickels at MS67. It is very hard from a photo to grade a high MS coin. The only way to be sure of the grade is to send it off to be certified. I would say yours has a shot of at least MS66. Nice Buffalo no matter what the grade.

Greenstang got a reaction from Mike Meenderink in Kansas 2005 Several Errors Your Input Is Appreciated
Have to disagree with you Mike, not a greaser.  It is just badly corroded with no numismatic value.
If it was grease filled, it would not affect the rims. That quarter has the rims partially mossing on both sides.
Also grease filled would have a much smoother appearance and not show any of the copper core.

If you are weighing coins, an accurate weight to two decimal points is required.

I would say Die Deterioration Doubling. Notice the spread on both sides of the letters on the word QUARTER.
This doesn’t happen with Machine Doubling.

That is not a  die crack, it is too straight. It is a rim to rim scratch.

Yes it is. A Doubled Die is on the striking die so all coins struck frrom that die would show Doubling
Machine Doubling is a mechanical issue when the coin wa struck so it would only show on coins struck until the issue was corrected so it is possible to have both.

I saw this same thing on another forum where a couple of collectors as a joke kept bidding
on a worthless coin like this one. I think it got close to $10,000 when the bidding stopped
then they all retracted there bids. Probably the same type of thing here.

Looks like damage  (PMD) but please show a full photo of both sides so we can get a better perspective.
This should always be done with any posting.
Thanks for the full photos. They confirm that this is just damage.
It could not look like that after it was struck at the mint.

That looks like die deterioration doubling and possibly split plating on the mint mark.
but waiting for full photos of both sides of the coin before making a decision.
