Don't get so excited ya heathens.

I was banned from CT on March 10 before i could post this find. I should have started documenting sooner, but thought this site was a bit stuffy at first, but thanks to members like @Quintus Arrius, i see this site is pretty cool too. So here's the dime that got me banned, and every other find up till when i started the very popular thread about my daily finds. Hold on to your butts, this is going to take forever. Just think, my daily finds thread isn't a month old yet and it's 12 pages. I have 5 months of finds to post. Oh well, NGC luvs the positive attention

@Lem E, i was gonna hit you up over there to see if this qualified as a circam. On second opinion, it does not. Just looks awful.

okay, so why the heck did you get banned?

Hi everyone. Sorry for the little hiatus. I recently was convicted of some silly petty whatever, and was told i could serve 7 days in the local clink, or pay 500 bucks. I chose the ladder. In today's economy, with inflation rising to pay for, gas prices soaring, politics, anyway, a week's vacation was just what the doctor ordered. I found that nickel whilst in prison, as explained in @EagleRJO's thread. The rest, whatever. 20220827_072006.thumb.jpg.6c01c31c390edc5ad3416b45849a5c6f.jpg20220827_071958.thumb.jpg.2620627eedfe0c0f323c2a2ebb60d500.jpg

    Just an FYI:

    1) it is latter not ladder- you climb on the second one.

    2) and latter refers to the second one- paying the fine.

    3) to refer to the first one: use: the former.

Ain't  'cha glad that I'm back?

Hey @zadok, sure, it contributes nothing to no one, but it's fun! It's camaraderie! A bunch of guys with nothing in common with everything in common. A little escape. These aren't finds from the past, btw. These were found today, and that's all I'll ever post, that day's finds. Unless otherwise noted. I'll say, didn't find these, they were a gift! Or something to that effect. I have a pretty decent reputation with some well known members, so you don't think I'm blowing smoke.

so yes, if all you're coming for here is knowledge, not the thread for you. But if you want to come by, see what's still in circulation, crack a meister brau, chat with the fellas, then heck yeah, drop in and say hi. Post up a pic of a cool coin you found, at any time in your life. All are welcome. If not, i totally understand, and respect, and wish you and yours nothing but the best. But i do hope to see you back. (Last time I'll ever call you out, promise, and my apologies for doing so.)

don't worry fellas, @Frank @ShinyObjects, i didn't forget you guys, just didn't find anything that said, "you guys". Have a great afternoon, everyone!

He only posts his daily finds.

By the way: Doug ain't budging.  He says you can PM him for what happened.

Talkin' ta me? I don't see nobody else here. You talkin' ta me?

How am I funny? You mean like I'm a clown here to amuse you?

    (And then Liotta blinked!)

@Frank: Yeah. I still haven't got over your post about hoarders and numismatists. That was a cold shot, but you had me dead to rights. Guess I'll just have to live with that. Been called worse!

Yeah, I been talkin' at 'cha

Hi I metal detect and have found quite a few coins in my area I am a coin collector so I do not clean or polish my coins most still have dirt incrusted on them and I have heard NGC and PCGS both offer some sort of cleaning service where is that on the submission forms? I added my most recent find for an example on how I keep them and even in G3 this coin is $40 which is worth me submitting anyways I put it under a scope and it should get AG details environmental damage at the worst.

    FYI:

I have been detecting for years.

When you are "dirt fishing" I have found that it is best to keep a small bottle of water [eg: a medium pill bottle].

Any silver & especially copper coins should immediately go into the water.  This will help with the removal of the dirt later and will preserve the finish much better.

If the above responses are correct, it goes a LONNNNNNNNG way toward explaining my dismay about this hobby’s trajectory. Read. Books. Dammit. Attend events. Join a club. In short, get a clue.

Agreed, I always say: Read, read and then re-read what you've read.

People ask me how I get some of my cherry picks.

I tell them to buy a book, then read it
