That is common even on modern coins.
Thanks Greenstang!

...... and the second is a nice 63, with a shot at 64
On a side note for the 85cc it looks like a VAM3 as well. While that may not add any more value it's just nice to know to some .... nice looking coin.
And the arc is a very prominent die crack. Perhaps jGrinz can help with that.

The only thing going for you to possibly send this in is if it were one of the five VAM's that are either Top 100 or Hot 50 designations. While it is doubtful this one is .... if you like to do research you could investigate. While the pics aren't very detailed and I don't see anything that pops out to me you could still take a look on Vamworld.

Looks like you may have a winner but would have liked to see complete photo of reverse.
Yes Bob, I doubt it would be Cameo but think it may get a 68 (so that means it will grade at 67 )
Here are some better pics .... any lines, spots or blemishes are on the plastic. I'm reluctant to remove as of yet unless I am sure I want to send it.

Get a barcode reader app and see if the barcode also matches?
The NGC phone app is super quick and easy to scan coin .... anyone on here should download it if they haven't already. (and PCGS too)

It scanned good on my phone app.

While going through some proof set I took another look at this 1964 which appears to be an accent hair proof. I know it's difficult to give any accurate assessment of a grade though pics and the fact it is still in the packaging. The coin is far from perfect but what is shown in the obverse photo is on the plastic not the coin. I may consider to send this one in on my next submission. Any thoughts on real value to be graded?

There are many coins out there that are naturally toned that I think look great .... and no, they do not always have every color of the rainbow.

Thinking perhaps a Vam 7A or 7B
Better close up would help though.

Nice bunch of dimes. I would guess maybe MS63 or 64 on the one in the close-up.
If you ever want to remove them from the tube without dumping them, try this: Lay a soft cloth on the table. Stuff a cotton ball in the mouth of the tube, leaving a little hanging out. Turn the tube over carefully and place it, mouth down, on the cloth. Then, tilt the tube, and use tweezers to pull away the cotton a little at a time, until the coins are resting on the cloth. Lift off the tube carefully, and, voila, you have a stack of dimes.
I hear ya Bob ... I assure I didn't dump them ! I carefully placed them for the pic LOL.
Just wanted to show the condition of the entire roll which I was surprised how nice they are

Thanks for the look Coinbuf ! I took out one each from a tube I have of each date randomly. Trying to see if I want to go through them all closely or just sell the rolls as is.

I recently acquired a roll of Roosevelt dimes in a Whitman tube - sealed for what looks to be since minting. Just throwing this out there for opinions on where you think these would grade. All 50 are pretty similar in how clean and frosty they are, some with very minor spots (kinda like milk spots). I'm thinking MS63 or so?

yup, another one to just have around to look at
Thanks!

Got it Greenstang, it will just stay in my collection

If you are referring to a " Ragged Clip", then I think that coin is PMD. There is no sign of the blakesly effect which should be prominent on a coin with that much missing on 1 side.
After reading through this thread I am second guessing a clipped large cent I have. I'll take post on it later with some photos.

If you search for "ngc coin slab wall frame" there are some out there in various sizes and styles.
Wow! quite a few different option too. Not for me (I prefer a safe!)

Nice result - Did you not pay the extra for VAM attribution ?
None of these had a VAM that NGC would have recognized. I really do like the 84 tho .... Some may be interested if it could fall in the R6 area.

Just a follow up for those interested in the grades on the Morgans. I just got the update and put them in a new set category ... here's the link.

MS64 perhaps, it is a beauty tho.
Great pics on Vamworld! I need to get a microscope too .... so what is the actual grade J ?

Yup, I have both years but would love to get a 56 but I believe RB states on 2K to 3K where produced.
