People who haven’t gone to vote at a live polling station for over a decade. I was a county Election Director. Mail-in voting is inherently insecure. The entire REASON for polling places is to protect the chain of custody of ballots. Mail destroys chain of custody, and drop boxes are worse. Would you mail cash? Then why mail a ballot?

The average age AND INFIRMITY of the ANA National Volunteers is considerable. The ANA needs to stop rewarding incompetence and “correcting” people who do know what they’re doing. Maybe it’s just me - I don’t trust people with that much “face shrapnel”.

For the prices the Mint demands, regardless of reason, the cents minted for Proof sets ought to be pure copper.  That's right. They are not minted for circulation so durability should be of no concern.  If I were to shell out the filthy lucre, give me something for my ducats, not painted metal.

...yea mark writes lots of those short articles on whats out there thats not always obvious to the collectors that mite be looking for something to collect, operative word "collectors"...many of his articles r collector based as opposed to investor related n definitely not dealer related...the hints in this article r "bargain" n "common", this particular series allows the collector to feed his collector habit at relative low expense n not a difficult series to search for, the coins r basically common bullion coins n easily obtainable in mint state, if one chose to he/she could complete the entire set in a month or two, if funds available, only one semi-key date n it shows up in lower mint state the rest routinely mid-grade mint state...there r several diff series that fit this same bill, netherlands 10 gulden comes to mind n a few others...plus as mark mentions it gets ur foot thru the gold door if one is so inclined....

Excellent detective work! And for me, five (count 'em) exhibits, I had never seen before!  Fantastic!  And your answer is right there in the details...
The cereal boxes were marked and not a single truck shipping cereals was hijacked.  You know why? Because as @Jason Abshier ably pointed out, even the U.S. Mint was unaware anything was amiss in the production lines and it wasn't until FIVE FULL YEARS later that a variety was discovered, submitted by a member to a TPGS (NGC) which dubbed the find as pattern reverse of 1999 to distinguish it from a non-pattern reverse of 2000.
For years 5-1/2 thousand of these were ultimately released into circulation.  Of the 282,000,000 people living in the United States upon its release, only a nominal percentage were collectors and of those, an even lesser number were devotees of errors and varieties. Put another way, there was one of those special Cheerios coins (no apostrophe needed) for a little over every 50,000 people.  I believe Jason (I cannot refer to him as JA 🤣 ) advanced the most likely scenario: they were simply lost in the sauce of humanity.  The inadvertent discovery came far too late for anyone to do anything about it.  Although it has not been deemed as such, I would venture to guess the anomaly identified, involving fine details, may be attributed to what today would be referred to as a First Strike. Ten million Sacagawea dollar coins were minted in the year 2000. Although the Chat Board Guidelines do not require doing so, I would suggest any member who comes across this relic be obligated to surrender it voluntarily and  unconditionally to the OP,  posthaste.

zadok reacted to Henri Charriere in Who are the 8 most notable celebrity coin collectors?
If Gretz were only a collector of what you believe him to be, i.e., a part-owner of a baseball card, he would not have made Century's "8 most notable-celebrity coin collectors."
If Taylor Swift got involved, her "Swifties" would likely benefit existing collectors of S-G DEs over new collectors, as rising prices for an already comparatively expensive coin, would leave everyone else in the dust behind. Any short-term gains would be just that as her star quickly rises -- and inevitably falls. My opinion.
