2 days looking at this One
Well fellow collector hope your summer is going great and you all had time for a trip or 2. Well Yesterday at the Pawn shop I found this ANACS coin a 5ozer Hot Springs not knowing much about ANACS or this coin and the price I went home and thought about it overnight even sent a email to Rick well the price was reasonable against the silver price So went back today and ask him if there was any wiggle room on the coin after standing there he took off another $10.00. So I guess it true don't buy the holder get the coin you like, and that's a Quote from fellow collector that I call a friend.

Got my last coin of 2015 today looking back on my year there is 3 coins that I thing were my highlights the 20th Eagle set and my 54 and 59 Franklin proof. But I find it difficult to keep up with those pesky Eagles the mint in my mind are cranking out to many varieties. My main goal will keep working on my Proof Franklins and of course the Silver Eagles. Well happy New Year to all of you and thanks for all the support.

    Added a nice Proof Franklin
Well Collector It been since early Sept since I bought a coin I seen this one last week but it was a little higher then I wanted to spend that day so after thinking about it a looking on the net at the sight I usally buy from I called today and he still had it so I drove down and took it a 1954 Pf 67 the price was well under the listed price here so I think I did a good deal. anyway it creeps me closer to a complete set just need patience. The dealer said he was going to help me on some of the rest I needed He has a few proof set that need to be broken up and set in to NGC so just see what happens.
    Thanks for looking Lane

    Coin tales from vacation
    Hello collectors
I leaned a few things on vacation about coins which is a good thing 1st there were a lot of homemade slab coins most graded as good coins yes that was on the coin as thee grade the slabs make nice coin holder, but that's about it. I call then basement made lots and lots of coins like that at one coin shop. also some dealer push there own ideas when it was clear what I was looking for Franklin and Kennedy proofs. 1. didn't have any coins I was looking for he said that there not worth his time JFK normally don't cost a lot so I can see that but they are still some out there. I saw a Franklin Proof in what was sold as an old pCGS holder it had a dot matrix printed label, which I didn't know anything about, so not knowing I didn't buy the coin and the coin looked like it was tied on the tire of the car it was very dark no tone or luster just black.

Got it cheaper then asking price
    Hello collector
This week I picked up 2 proof Franklins a 58 in 65* from an online coin shop that I been doing some business with over the last year or so. I talk to them on the phone yes still uses the phone for my orders they do a good job with the customer but that what I think anyway. the 2nd was a 59 in 67 and it was a small shop I have stopped at before it on the way when I run down and see my mother. anyway he was asking a lot more then I wanted to pay today Like many of your collector have said in the past get the highest grade you can afford well after B,S back and forth we came to a price I could afford today so I left with a smile and he said he had this coin in inventory for a while so we both were happy with the deal. The hunt is just as much fun for me and stories behind as the coin it self. Thanks for looking

    buyer beware
    Hello collectors
Well I went to a coin show on Saturday. There was about 12 vendors there And they had the what you would expect Mint, proof set coin albums, graded coins of every type . well as most of you know I been working on a grades set of Franklins and my ASE sets and of course anything that may catches my eye graded or not . Anyway I was surprise that I had a lot of the coins that the vendor had ( ex) the 2 coin sets by the mint and proof sets. Well here the rub they had graded coin or so they said in these slabs I have never seen or heard of they looked home made as if maybe I would put a coin in a slab print out a fancy looking label and I slapped a grade of 70 on it I know something about the grading services and the lower grading service that are in business or went out . anyway my deal is to stay with NGC or PCGS just that what I do and if I going to pay for something I want a good quality coin. on another note their mint and proof sets were way too expensive yes I look at them also I think everyone is entiled to making a buck or 2 but not to buy there retirement on a mint set. And yes I familiar with the cost of and what fair I never question the price if it over valued by a few dollars if it something I want. but 30 to 50% is waytoo much They was a good turn out when I was there, but left with nothing and a sour taste in my mouth I guess the old saying is true no matter what we are buying Buyer beware. I have read a few times to buy the coin not the holder but sometimes you just have to listen to the voice and back away if it a 70 grade and your not positive of what exactly it is.

Hello Collectors and Merry Christmas well after looking for this 1962 franklin I found it on ebay but I didn't order it I called the shop directly, for some reason I like talking to the folks that get my money so I get a feel for how that are I got a better deal reduce price and free shipping. cant complain about that. My Franklin set isn't the highest grade but hey when you got them all in a row it is a nice set I will order from them again. so hopefully in the early part of 2014 I will finish this set and thanks to the collector that helped me on my way.
