  1. HI Wendy,

Glad you are getting interested. Conder tokens are in my view, a truly undervalued series, but alot of folks are starting see what this series has to offer and it won't be long before 'truly undervalued' changes to just 'undervalued'. But they are a fantastic series to collect and so diverse, so many ways to collect them. Enjoy your holiday drooling!

  2. Here is my NEWP from the Houston Money Show. Most everything on the bourse I was interested in was listed from 50% and greater over MV prices in the established guides. This one was close to MV - i.e not too much above. I don't see how the dealers will sell anything when their prices are so over the top. On the other hand, it may be that my abilities to identify the very choice examples has increased and thus the MV guides are not applicable for these. Maybe, but one dealer was reasonable and made the effort to work with me on price. So here is the result of that, this one fits well into the set I am building for seated halves.

  3. very nice Pidcock's with an interesting cracked planchet. I don't know why NGC did not put it in a Details holder if they believed the planchet was an issue.

Here is a nice proof-like - hard to image the blue in the lower field as shown is actually pervasive on the reverse but hard to image.

I like the et cetera at the end of the advert where the die maker did not have enough space to put it in so was creative with a '&c'

  4. Thanks for the nice comments on my dime and hd. The bubble on the obverse of the half dime is pretty cool - an extreme example of a common type of clash with the reverse eagle's left wing imprinted on the obverse die during the clashing event - heck it even has flow lines over it. Note the die crack running from star 7 through the front part of Miss Liberty's profile - this was obverse 2 for this year and was the second use of this die - in the late stage of this obverse in its first use (LM2), the clash and the die crack developed, so this clash is actually from a different reverse (W), than the reverse die used for this die pair (Z). The LM2 variety has an R1 rating - so this obverse was used heavily to the point of cracking and being clashed before its use in LM5 die pairing where they mated it with a different reverse. Interestingly, it was the 3rd use of the reverse Z.

  5. I have a general question. Does anyone out there know how to get rarity information on Conders - I am talking about going beyond the DH info - Common, Scarce, R, RR, RRR etc. Where is there info about how many of each are extant? I have all of the Bell books, but they don't really help with that, just interesting info on different Conders.

    Thanks, HT
