Are all your coins toned?
Friends; We all read about a society member selling their sets once in a while.I have wondered myself, more now than before what could I get and what would be the best direction to go for selling. Like all of us I would hate to part with a set I have probably invested over 2000 hours in for research and purchases. Not to mention total cost = unintelligent mistakes + what I now have in my set.
I previously E-mailed around 40 dealers & our favorite 2 auction companies "set for sale". The answers started flying in within minutes and were all answered within 24 hours. I started on Saturday but did not complete until after church on Sunday. I was very surprised on how many dealers are ready to make a deal on Sunday instead of waiting till Monday. Anyway most of them looked at my set and asked me if all of my coins were toned. I pulled up the set I sent them to look at and behold a full set of orange/tan toned Morgan Dollars. It was so hard to actually get decent photo-shots and to download them into my sets I never realized the palm side of my hand mirrored off every coin. When I looked at the full set inline all the coins looked identical. I have spent the last two days cleaning up my sets photo album and still want to perfect around 20 more shots.
There is not always finances to add coins into the set but I can find ways to enjoy them that will keep me busy for hours.
