It was the coins!

After looking at 20 rolls of Washington P dollars from the new mint release, and listening to others that had opened another 60 to 70 rolls I came to the conclusion that it was not worth the bother to slab a bunch of weakly struck, banged up coins.

I will continue to look for a quality coin, but now I expect to be looking for a much longer time. Having a little blurb on the label that says this coin was a first release, should have meant the best struck and nicest coins the mint could deliver.

I seems apparent that any coin that says "first released" will be some of the sorriest examples of the presidential series. Not something I want associated with my collection.
