Slabbed coins are cool, but I also love my raw buffalo and Merc collections.

I am starting on my second set of raw mercs (not including the 41 overdates and the 16d). I went to my local antique dealer and bought the coins I THOUGHT I needed, only to get home and discover I duplicated a bunch of coins I didn't need and only bought one of the coins I did need.

This last weekend at the coin show I saw at least 1/2 doz Beautiful buffalo nickels, but was afraid to buy, because I couldn't remember exactly what I needed.

The answer? Now I take my list with me everywhere I go. Tucked neatly in my wallet I am ready at a moments notice to pounce on those opportunities when they present themselves, without fear of buying, yet another coin I already have.

Prehaps I am getting feeblebrained. But I don't think I am old enough to qualify for age being the excuse

Oh well, I am off to bogwater creek, list in hand, to see if he still has the coins I did not buy 4 weeks ago.
