Significant Coin Auctions

I just wanted to get some forum opinions on this. I am working on a small section of the Young Numismatists Auction Catalog for the ANA Milwaukee show. I wanted to include a small section and discuss 10 or so famous coin auction sales.....like Eliasberg, Pittman, etc.

 

So, what would you guys say are the most significant coin auctions to occur over the past century?

The sale of the 33 Double Eagle, and the multiple sales of the 1913 V Nickels.

The Garrett Sale has to be right up at the top of the list.

Garrett, John Hopkins, Eliasberg, Ford, Pitman, the 1954 Palace collection (Farouk sale) And then there are many specialized collections, but I assume you are looking for more broad based sales.

I wonder if the recent Jules sale counts?

Two important ones to me, but not so obvious to others, are the Frederick B Taylor auction (1987) and the recent Reiver auctions (2006).

Thanks for all of the input guys. I am familiar with most of the major sales, but I just wanted to see what people felt were the most significant ones so that I could come up with a good list.
