ACCGS Grading/AT - Your Opinion

The following auction caught my eye because I had never heard of this "grading service" before and I wondered if this "rainbow monster" had received some "medical attention". What is your opinion?

and i will say just from looking at the scan for less than 2 seconds looks like AT to me

I've never seen a Stone Mountain that color -- they typically are drab to begin with, and command strong premiums with any kind of real color.

You could probably still smell the chemicals thru the slab on that coin. It is AT without question.

 

In that grade with that color it would be a $20,000 coin.

The grading service exists out of a PO box. IMO the coin is artificially toned.

I've seen a few Stone Mountains with blueish toning, but never that uniform, nor with a clear, clean center. Like Keith said, they are ususally darkly toned and mottled. That's got to be AT, but it's a pretty and interesting coin, if for nothing but who graded it!

The coin has almost certainly been treated with liver of sulfur.
