Well before any comments, this post is not complaint about the Grades or Grading as i think are spot on NGC & NCS

or complaning about the coins i chose to send (I am a coin collector first and formost) all the coins sent were for a reason (which i will explain on some of the coins listed) and hopefly some of you V.I.P may be able to help me with

 

COINS:-

 

Morgan $1 1921 AU-58

This coin was found in the scrap silver box at the Newcastle coin shop so was cheep.. It is an intresting coin as the word PLURIBUS is impressed (reversed) on the rim at 3-6 o clock.. would anyone like to tell me how this could happen to a AU coin with very little other damage caused

 

 

Large Cent 1816..Token CTSP "M.BRADY" VG 8 BN

A coin i have been wanting to send off for a long time but i have been unable to find "M.Brady" listed in any of my books so i was unsure if they would grade it.

Can any one help with this firm & where do you put this type of coin on you regestry sets..

 

 

50 cent 1828 No knob curled 2 0-150 XF Details Improperly cleaned

This one did upset me a little as it was won at a "propa" coin auction which is held i high regard in the UK(which i am also not having a go at) won it for £80.. i still love this coin .. but even in the hand it seemed to have a great tone.. this is a shame as i was going to try and match the 5 main 1828's to this coin and mult-holder them

 

 

One Cent 1996 D AU Details Damaged

Dont you just hate that word, what does it mean .. this cent has the strangest "damage" i have seen on a cent.it is almost imposable for me to discribe the form of "damage" it's kinda warped and the one cent letters are sort of sunken but with the outline of the letters standing high (O dubled), there are also two die cracks running through the reverse .. so i presume that they think that the Damage is post mint .. but how could you have so much damage and still stay AU..i wish some one would take some good photos of this coin !!!!!

 

 

Large Cent 1837 Med Let Head of 36 Improperly cleaned N-6 VF-Details

Still love this coin and its tone (green/blue metalic)

could some one tell me what the N-6 is

 

 

Half Cent 1835 CSTP "S.M" R-Z54as REV SCRATCHED (a Cross) XF-Details

This is the one i am most disapointed with as how do we not know that the Merchant did not cross the back of the coin when he made it into a token ?

also this is a "Rare" token [standard Catalog of U S Tokens 1700-1900 Russell Rulau] "S.M" Ctsp on U.S. 1833 or 1835 Half cent, 6 Pieces known, Rulau Coll.; Brunk 35457 with no price for EF condition..

 

 

The other coins sent were:-

Shield five cent 1882 AU53

Ten cent 1853 Arrows XF Details Improperly cleaned

One cent 1984 AU Details Environmental dammage

Half penny 1956 Rare veriation XF 40 BN

 

Well there you are 4/10... and i am still happy.. am i nuts.. NO just a collector

With all due respect, why on earth would you submit a damaged 1996 penny and a damaged 1984 penny for grading? I could question some of the others, but these two are nothing short of ludicrous. Given the entire submission, I recommend that you show your coins to someone who is more experienced and knowledgeable before your next submission.

as i stated the value has nothing to do with coins i submit because i love coins i love the hunt/chase of the unusual/strange

 

the 1984 was a possable double ear and the 1996 D (wish you could see some better pictures its such a freeky coin) was so strange i had to send it in !!!

 

you also have to remember i am in the UK and i only have you felas to ask about my coins and i bet you get sick if me asking inane/simple questions re USA coins.

 

the next lot of 15 coins i have sent in are far more "sensible" and should get a "canny" grade ect (thanks all)
