you have the picture upside down but i think the year is

 

 

4x10+9 = 49 year which would be 1974

Slight correction.

 

Japanese Showa 49 is 1974, but Chinese Republic Year 49 is 1960.

 

BTW the denomination side is right side up (the top picture). It's the date side that's upside down.

DO MO Roy Could not remember i thought i got this coin when i was stationed in Okinawa in late 60's early 70's
