The second topic on metal detecting made me actually go out and order a Garrett GTI 1500 today.

 

Now I am curious what you have actually found. Soooooooooooooo............

PS - It does NOT have to be coins....watches, jewelry is fine, and I am sure there is some weird stuff too....

I have one of these garrett 1500's. You will like it very much. It's a very good coin shooter. I've taken mine out a few times and it will zero in on some coins!

We had a Garret when I was a kid and found all kinds of metal objects along the Oregon trail one summer but they have long disappeared somewhere.

 

Still a "digger" but without a detector, being a Geologist and such. Here is the closest thing I have to "metal" that was "dug up" . It is a pyrite "dollar" which came from unweathered limestone in Dallas County Texas during excavation of a landfill site.
