I think I would actually go Unc. for this Mike. That's a nice looking buffalo. Real nice details, full lettering,good tail on the hip, and full horn. The round thing just looks like something got caught up during the striking.

I'd call the coin an AU53. Good detail and a pleasing look. The reverse motto was always crooked, and was often made worse with die clashing. The hollow above the buff's flank is part of the design.

I grade it at AU-55. Rub on Inidan cheek and buffalo. Nice 31-S!

I always liked 31-S.

 

That rub on the flank is more "noticable" than friction.
