I believe that NGC mis-attributed this 1827 CBH. What do you think?

This is in an NGC slab labeled an 1827 O-130

I do not believe this is an O-130---any thoughts on this one?

attribute 1827's in a hurry,theres too many.I wonder how long the graders get,

 

or if certain people do the attributing? VF30?

It's not 130. Try 117.

I believe David Lange does the variety attribution for NGC and not the actual graders.

Yes, that looks like a 117 die pairing. NGC turns around attribution errors quickly...

I no longer do the in-house variety attribution, but I still do it when we grade at shows.

 

If you can bring that coin to a major show and get it to us no later than noon on Friday, I can check it out and make any necessary corrections. Otherwise, you can send it to NGC for Designation Review, but I'd like to save you the expense by doing it onsite at a show.

Unless you are interested in the coin as a 117, send it back. NGC won't make an adjustment for the more common variety.
