First Release Silver Eagles

4 posts in this topic

I just purchased two sealed 2007 rolls of silver eagles and was planning on sending them to NGC for grading. My question is this; do the silver eagles have to come out of a "green monster box" to receive the First Release tag or will these rolls qualify as long as they're in NGC's hands by January 31st?

Thanks,

Yes, rolls qualify. If your coins are received by the Early Releases deadline, no supplementary documentation or packaging is required. You must request the Early Releases designation on your submission form.

Mint State Eagles are not sold to individuals by the United States Mint. They are sold to bullion distributors who then sell them. In short you want to buy a Mint State eagle you have to buy it from a dealer.
