Does NGC prevent PCGS coins from being in more than one set?

2 posts in this topic

Over "across the street" was a thread about a coin that a seller did not remove from his registry set, thereby preventing the buyer from registering it in his registry set. A few emails, of course, took care of the problem.

I presume that the programming for the NGC registry sets allows NGC coins to be registered in only one owner's set(s). But are the NGC registry sets programmed to allow a PCGS coin to be registered in only one owner's set(s)?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. There is a security measure in place to alert us when a coin (whether it is NGC or PCGS) is already registered to someone in our Registry.

As we verify the entries, any coins already registered to another user automatically go to a special handling area where we can see who currently owns it, who is submitting it now and make a decision about how we want to handle it.

Of course both parties are notified when this happens so we can determine where the entry belongs.

Thanks for your question!
