"Mature Audiences Only" - I listed it, but they won't even let ME view it?!?!

24 posts in this topic

Item 9533501963 is a bunch of bawdy tokens from my consignor. eBay allowed me to list the item, but for some reason, I can't view it myself! When I click the item number, I get some kind of Terms of Use: Mature Audiences Category ("Terms of Use") screen, then when I click the "Submit" button, IE crashes! Can any of you brave souls view the item?? It does have bids, so apparently some are able to see it.

Thanks.

James

1. I am a member of the eBay community and I will follow the eBay User Agreement governing my use of the eBay web site.

2. I am willing to provide eBay with my valid credit card number and expiration date, which will be left on file with eBay in order to verify that I am at least 18 years of age.

3. I will not permit any person(s) under 18 years of age to have access to any of the materials contained within this site.

4. I am voluntarily choosing to access this category, because I want to view, read and/or hear the various materials that are available.

6. By entering my User ID and Password and viewing any part of this adult category, I agree that I shall not hold eBay or its employees responsible for any materials located in the adult category, and I waive all claims against eBay relating to materials found at this site.

7. If I use these services in violation of these Terms and Use, I understand I may be in violation of local and/or federal laws and am solely responsible for my actions.

8. I am an adult, at least 18 years of age, and I have a legal right to possess adult material in my community.

9. I do not find pornographic images of nude adults, adults engaged in sexual acts or other sexual material to be offensive or objectionable.

10. I will exit from this site immediately if I am in any way offended by the sexual nature of any materials on this site.

11. By entering my User ID and Password at the bottom of these Terms of Use, and by listing, bidding an item, or entering the adult site, I agree to abide by these terms.

If you do not agree to these terms, click on the back button of your browser and exit this adult category page.

Just hit submit... and that should work.

Not so fast. The next page asks for your eBay password even though you are already logged into eBay. I think it may be a scam.

James, I think someone may have accessed your account and is trying to scam people. I'd check with eBay.

No ...just went in after sign in ofcourse.

Spider, I went to my eBay home page (where I was already signed in) and keyed in the Item # search. When the "Adults Only" page appeared with the "Submit" at the bottom, I clicked on it and it took me to another sign-in page. Think about it. Why would you have to give your password again if you are already logged in. There are so many crooks out there and rather than seek gainful employment, they spend their days thinking of ways to cheat people. If I were you, I'd change my password with eBay and/or Pay Pal real quick.

Are you ID verified?

Go to my ebay (your home page)

At the top right corner of your home where it says advanced search, search from there

Enter item number ########## and select find location of item

Find item listing

Find location of item ((((Select this one))))

Then when page opens ..select adult verification

I did get to the screen that Bruce saw, with the "Submit" button, but upon pressing it, IE churns for about 15 seconds, then crashes out to a "page not available" type of screen. I never get an opportunity to enter my ebay login and password....

Login to your account thru My eBay. Paste the auction number into the search. Click on the Adult I Agree babble. Let it churn. Go back to the previou screen and paste the same auction number. It'll bring up the auction this way.

Hmmm. I don't know, James. First, it's KKK tokens. Now, it's bawdy tokens. Peddling all this racism and porn will get you in trouble eventually. wink.gif Does anyone else find in suspicious that James is always referring to <open air quotation marks> my consignor <close air quotation marks> when he puts this stuff on the market? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Edited to add wink.gif in case anyone had doubts.

I think your problem might be IE, by the sounds of it. Try using a different browser (like Opera). I switched to Opera about two years ago, and it is much faster, much safer, much easier, and all around a better program.

I have used IE, Opera, Mozilla, Firefox, etc.. I always find myself coming back to IE. There are always sites that don't work with the other browsers. Netscape is not bad about sites, but I am not a big fan of thier browser

Yep, remember that I got scammed like this on paypal and am still waiting for the refund.

eBay frequently makes you login again. Ever try to cancel an auction or add to the description? It requires you to login even if you were already logged in. It's just an extra security step with eBay. It's 100% OK.

BTW, if you use ZoneAlarm for your firewall (it's free), it has some sort of protection. You enter in your eBay info into ZoneAlarm and then if you try to enter that info into a fake eBay site, it prevents you. Not sure how well it works or every really how it works, but people seem to think fairly highly of ZoneAlarm, so I assume it's an OK feature of it.

Greg is right about ebay. I don't mind logging in again. On a side note Zone Alarm is not as good as the hype in my opinion. Just my thoughts
