joejeweler-migration
What started out as a hobby has become an obsession of sorts......... ..............for whenever a beautiful coin becomes available i'll sell some gold or silver bullion to aquire it. Bullion can be purchased at anytime, but i feel as though many of these coins, as some of yours might be considered also,......are works of art sealed in a time capsule. Another early type coin.... joejeweler-migration
And here's the older sister of the last coin,.......small eagle draped bust half dime in PCGS MS60. The strike and originality of this coin are amazing in hand, with most of the breast feathers present. ......it sure looks better than MS60 to me,.....and most others that have viewed it in person. joejeweler-migration
Funny you mention that. A recent inventory assessment reveiled that i've spend about DOUBLE on coins than what i paid for my 1,600 SqFt. single family home just 2 years ago. The house i financed part of over 30 years,...... ..........only a few of the coins were financed out 90 days,.......but most were purchased immediately as i don't like owing anyone. Same reason i pre-pay the mortgage, BTW. These are just outstanding Joe! Can I put 10% down and finance the rest in 30 year fixed rate. I'll have my attorney write up the paper work. joejeweler-migration
This PCGS MS66 Red 2 Cent coin looks as fresh as the day it left the mint. I usually buy red brown copper in order to get the color i prefer, but this coin had such nice luster and originality i decided to go with it in my type set slot. ........just my worth. _Obv.jpg' alt='2.gif.9fc66b13abe5d736a39bc1a668f42ae9.gif' alt='2c'>_Obv.jpg'> _Rev.jpg' alt='2.gif.9fc66b13abe5d736a39bc1a668f42ae9.gif' alt='2c'>_Rev.jpg'>
TomB
You have some truly significant coins, Joe, and it looks like you obtained some from Laura and Adrian. They offer some nice coins. By the way, your type set is beating mine by about 70,000 points. (thumbs u
joejeweler-migration
Me Too! When i was 22 i was about to get married and have a few children 4 & 8 years later. There was no money back then for anything like a rare coin collection. Most of you know what i'm talking about. Nope, you need to get kids and college and other things done before you can spend serious dough on hobbies! ..............but nice coins, like a good woman,...... ....are worth waiting for! ............of course i was separated back in 1992 after 15 years of marriage, divorced 10 years later. I always felt she was the right woman for me,.........but the feeling wasn't mutual it seems. That's life. You have some beautiful coins there Joe. I only wish I had coins like that when I was 22.. joejeweler-migration
Thanks,...... and yes, Anaconda and Legend are some of my favorite coin dealers because of the level of coins they regularly aquire. However, ........years ago Adrian Crane (at Anaconda) was much more accessable. Today most of my dealings have been thru Brandon Kelly, as Adrian had recently advised me most of the day to day coin activities have been turned over into his capable hands. .............same at Legend. I deal almost exclusively with George there. (save for someone else answering the phone when i call and they transfer me to George) I've only met Laura twice at the Baltimore show several years ago. I was out of work and needed to sell some coins. One she bought was one that came back home to her (she had purchased it raw out of the Eliasberg auction) and i wish i still had it. It was a georgous NGC 1915 PF68 Barber Half Dollar with the Eliasberg pedigree. Today it would be a no question *Star coin. Simply the most beautiful Barber Half i've ever seen. Concentric albumn toned rings of color starting with deep gunmetal blue along the rims and ending up with fire orange & red within the centers made for an awe-inspiring visual display. Laura was planning on inbedding it in her own collection, though i've asked to keep me in mind should they ever decide to sell. You have some truly significant coins, Joe, and it looks like you obtained some from Laura and Adrian. They offer some nice coins. By the way, your type set is beating mine by about 70,000 points. joejeweler-migration
Yeah,.....i realize that too and i want to save some for later,.....maybe in a more general thread. (i'm about to go to bed soon also). ..................but while these all aren't, of course, my "latest acquisions",.......for the most part have been aquired within the last 6 months or so. We're still "Newly-Weds"! ok ok ok.....enough.....i can't go to bed jealous like this. this was SUPPOSED to be "latest acquisition" only Mr. Jeweler. warriorbassman-migration
We're still "Newly-Weds"! HAHA that reminds me of when I take my girlfriend to the coin store. The owner shows me his newest pieces he thinks I'd be interested in and I say "shes beautiful", my girlfriend rolls her eyes and says I wish he'd say that about me once in a while. That should be a comic strip if it isn't already... sorry this was ------->
