Matte Proof

2 posts in this topic

Has NCS done any work on matte proofs?

I have a silver matte proof which has some unattractive toning and a few crusty spots. Were it a normal proof, I believe that NCS would be able to remove these. However, being a matte proof, is this something NCS could conserve?

We have had success in conserving matte proof coins in the past. We have conserved both U.S. issues of the earlier part of the 20th century as well as world issues. I wouldn't, of course, be able to comment about your coin in particular without seeing it.

Chris, NCS
