Is this anything? Proof Barbados thing. (and book question)

See attached. dated 1975, this is a proof coin of some type. Did these circulate, or was it a collector/gift item? This one has nice toning, even though my scan doesn't pick it up.

Can anyone recommend a good overall book on foreign coins that has prices?

This coin has a value of $4.50 in the current Krause book. They did not appear to circulate or at least the only values listed are in unc.

I have to disagree. Notice the tips of the coral. The paint is worn away. My estimate is no more than $225.
