Wondering if this 1939 Jefferson nickel has an error, or is simply damaged? 1 1

There are 2 side-by-side, round divots on the bottom front, which almost appear like 2 nail-punch marks. But they create a raised lump on the reverse, and next to that lump is a smaller round punch mark. Curious!

Yup, damage

No way for that to happen when the coin was struck, It has been hit hard with something bulging the metal on the reverse  , so yes it is damage.
