1984 quarter rim question

Can you please let me know if this quarter has been altered to have a thicker rim or if it came from the mint that way.

Double post, or not, and regardless of perceived FMV, the quarter is twice the size (thickness) of a regular quarter and, therefore, in my eyes worth twice as much, or fifty cents. And, unless there is conjecture this may be a counterfeit  :whatthe:. I would offer to pay double that before @powermad5000 gets his hands on it.  doh!   🤣  :roflmao:

I would more lean towards this being a spooned coin imho. It is possible it was "on a roll" so to speak in a dryer, but I think it was the start of someone spooning it and most likely gave up because it is quite a bit of work to spoon a coin.
