Can NCS remove copper spots on gold?

2 posts in this topic

I have a nice 1926 Indian eagle currently graded MS-62, but it's got a nast patch of copper spotting on the reverse (it almost looks like rust!) that really detracts from the coin. Can you at NCS do anything to remove this?

It is very difficult to properly evaluate a coin without seeing it. We have, however, had great success in helping copper spots on gold coins.

Especially since the spot is affecting negatively the eye appeal of your coin, I would recommend submitting it for conservation.

When your coin is at the NCS offices, the evaluators will inspect your coin, determine if work would be beneficial to your coin. The evaluation will also determine that the same minimum grade will remain properly. After any work is done, we would submit your coin to NGC for a regrade.
