This was a short story on the news tonight, but I missed the verbal part of the story. I think they said it was sold at Heritage Auctions. I don't know what this coin is and was unable to locate it in a search. Just wondering what it is. Sorry, the news didn't show a picture of the reverse so I can't help on that.

Looks like a Stella.

@Lem E is correct, this is a $4 gold Stella, it was sold by a firm called Leonard Auctions located in Chicago.   Here is a link to their site where you can see the coin.
