Russian Soviet Era Coins worth to collectors?

Just a question… would Soviet era coins be worth something? I noticed one of the coins with a stronger ping than the rest of the other ones I have rn and it was lighter. Usually the lighter the coin, the more precious the metal that was used right?

Most coins of the Soviet Union aren't worth much, but, as with all other coins, the answer for a particular coin depends on its denomination, type, date, mint, condition, and sometimes additional factors.  You can get approximate retail values and other information for world coins at World Coin Price Guide and Values | NGC (ngccoin.com), which can also be found under the "Resources" tab on the NGC home page.  Note that there is a larger "spread" between wholesale and retail for coins of countries like the USSR that aren't widely collected in the U.S.

This is incorrect. Precious metals are generally heavier by volume than base metals. The World Coin Price Guide generally states the weight, composition and current bullion value of a precious metal coin. The bullion ("melt") values of U.S. and world precious metal coins can be found at U.S. Silver Coin Melt Values | Silver Dollar Melt Value | NGC (ngccoin.com).

Early Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic (RSFSR) [January 1918 until December 1922] coins in gold, silver and brass were collectible although not especially popular. It was succeeded by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) in December 1922. The Soviet era coins before 1941 are difficult to locate in Unc condition.

I think they're worth collecting, plus caviar.

I’ve seen some Soviet coinage get some high demand bidding prices in auctions …. You have look into mintage and dabble around in that field to see what is in demand with certain collectors … it’s a small crowd of collectors in that sector

There are a few fabulous rarities included, from dates that might seem mundane.
