Damaged, likely caught in a dryer, not an error and only worth one cent.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, the coin you have posted is severely damaged. There is nothing in the coin minting process that would cause this to happen to the coin. In coin collecting we call this Post Mint Damage. PMD is anything that marks, scars, discolors, deforms or in any way damages a coin. Only certain types of errors will be caused by the mint process, and this is NOT one of them. I suggest picking up some books on basic coin collecting and the coin minting process to familiarize yourself with coins in general before you attempt to identify errors or any specific types of collectable coins. Damage is not an error, what you have is worth 1 cent.   
Study up on how coins are minted and what constitutes an error or a variety.
