1776-1976 Bicentennial Quarter Strike Through error?

I think this coin is physically damaged. It took a hit where you can see the metal piled up on the sides of the impact point of the crater, it has a large scratch from the drummers left drumstick extending to the rim and also has been gouged in the drum to the left of the hit that caused the crater.

What would make you think this coin exhibits any kind of error??

It is ok. Learning is a constant in this hobby no matter how many years you have into it. Errors represent an advanced area of the hobby and require much more additional learning as well as a mindset for what happens in the striking chamber. We tell most collectors to get the basics down well before venturing into the world of errors.

Keep at it! The more you put into learning the more enjoyment you get out of the hobby! (thumbsu
