2001 Lincoln Penny Reverse Gas Bubble
1 1

Several years ago I was told by a much more experienced coin collector that this 2001 Lincoln penny likely has a gas bubble on the Reverse behind Lincoln.  Curious if you agree or if you have other thoughts on what it is?

Any Lincoln zinc plated cent is prone to bubbles. Once the bubble(s) break, the.
zinc core is exposed to air and the coin will start to rot.  Very common on zincoins.

Not an occulated gas bubble.

An occulated gas bubble affects sold alloy coin. A 2001 cent is plated so it is a plating bubble/ blister.

I would have to agree that the effect here is a minor occluded gas bubble.

Here is a link to the site error-ref.com and I think you will see that yours is a minor version of the ones shown in the link.
