Steeling time and attention

After slopping through a few hundred nasty nickels and having read through the post: "can a 1943 steel cent weigh 3.1 gr and stick to a magnet".  I became curious.  I like those wheaties and have a few, hoping to get some AU/MS in the future.  As for now, I have a few F/VF's and 30 rotters from my dads' collection.  I have a "reprocessed" set and a few that I think are reprocessed based on their appearance.  I decided to weigh them all to see what is what.  I won't be showing all 43 '43 cents I weighed, but  I will show some highlights.

First, to indicate my scale seems to be accurate with this 2020 nickel:

Next, I will show my dads' 30 rotters, these were, in my mind, to be my control weights.  Considering their absurd condition, my assumption is that my father (86yrs.old) was collecting original steel wheats.

Of these 30, the heaviest was 2.89g and the lightest was 2.51g, with an avg weight of 2.706667g.

I then weighed the three reprocessed coins:

1943p: 2.80g / 1943d: 2.68g / 1943s: 2.91g

Funny enough, I have also a 1944 Belgium 2 franc coin that was minted by the US Mint and utilized the same planchets as the 1943 steel wheaties.

After all this show and tell, I am curious about how much weight would be added with the re-coating.  Only 1 of my re-coated coins was 0.02g over my highest original.  Would various various entities that handled re-coatings use different mixes that would increase weight?

I know, I know, beating a rusted dead steel wheat stalk is futile and "basic" but at least I was able to hide from my nasty nickel for a bit.  Back to the terrible table of rot and rust for me.
