Authenticity Verification

I recently purchased a 1923 Peace dollar through an online auction. This is in an old style NGC holder. Upon receipt I attempted to verify the barcode and was unable to with the app. When using a barcode reader I come up with a barcode that does not match the last 9 numbers to the verification code.

This is the barcode read I get.

Top reverse of the coin also has a very weak strike. Although that is common amongst Peace Dollars would this still qualify for this grade? Or with this barcode is this counterfeit?

Hello @Gettinbig313, thank you for contacting us. We are sorry you were unable to pull up the coin's details using the barcode. The grade and details are indeed correct and can be manually verified on our NGC Verification page HERE.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Thank you!

Thank you for the response. I have been able to verify by manually entering the code. My main concern was possibly receiving a fake. The barcode has been my go to method of verification as most counterfit labels do not have the correct barcode or one that is even readable.
