I am always amazed by the survivability of some of these coins after all the years in circulation. Also, I have always wondered why LWC's are still found in regular change. You would think even non coin enthusiasts would pull them out based on the date and the fact that they don't look like the modern change of today. I could see the older nickels still not getting noticed by general people since they kept the same design for so many decades and there are still so many of them circulating.

I used to see a few 30's to 50's nickels fairly often, but with the continued transition to CC transactions I am seeing less cash than ever.    I still on occasion find a 50's or 60's nickel but that is about it for pre 1964 coinage.   Nice to find a bit of silver in the wild.
