   The so-called 1970-S "small date" or "high 7" cent can be identified by the top of the "7" in the date being level with the other numerals. However, the easiest diagnostic is the thin, lightly impressed obverse lettering, as seen on this photo from the NGC Coin Explorer:

A small date 1970-S will always ALWAYS A-L-W-A-Y-S have a weakly struck “LIBERTY”. Yours is a large date. Note: I STILL maintain there are at least three types, not two, so hang in there. I say this from studying the over 500 BU 1970-S cents I own in plastic tubes of various types.
