Clay1492
Hello. I have been trying to figure this one out. It looks beat up but it's still in the wrap from the mint. Looks like it's heavily clashed or maybe multi struck. It's difficult to see or photograph through the plastic. Any thoughts on what's going on with it? Should I remove it from the plastic? Thanks! Administrator KaileeS CS Posted March 15, 2023 Administrator Share Posted March 15, 2023 Hello @Clay1492, thank you for contacting NGC. Unfortunately, we are not able to identify any errors/strikes or authenticate coins via photos. You would need to kindly submit the coin for grading so we may have the coin in-hand to confirm if there are any strike errors (or otherwise) to your coin. We would kindly suggest that you may want to visit a local NGC Authorized dealer to discuss the coin and see what may have occurred. You can find dealers here: NGC | Dealer Locator. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Sandon
Your coin appears to be a normal, uncirculated 1970-S "large date" or "low 7" cent that was cut from a 1970 uncirculated coin ("mint") set. Based on your photos, I see no evidence of clash marks, multiple strikes, or other anomalies, just cracks or folds in the plastic. I would leave it in the mint plastic to protect it from the environment. Coinbuf and RonnieR131
Coinbuf
It appears that your coin exhibits some minor strike doubling. This is common and has no numismatic value.
