Why are the ranking numbers on my control panel different from the little ranking flag when I look at the set?

Did you check to see if you have the setting to NGC only?

That is your answer, the new system only shows the rankings for all coins.   So if you have the old collectors system set to NGC only the two will be different.   Select all coins in the collectors society system and it should be the same.
