Raatzie99
I am trying to determine where I should be looking to research more about errors like I have in the Penny below. I have a 1971D Lincoln cent, that is severely offset on its impression. Are these interesting to collect? Of any value whatsoever? Just curious to learn where and how to research search anomalies. bsshog40
Nice looking off-center cent. They are collectible but you won't get rich off it. It's nice that it has the date also.
EagleRJO
That is a pretty nice off-center strike error compared to many I have seen since it like 75% off and still includes the date. You can look here to get an idea of value ... https://coinquest.com/cgi-bin/cq/coins.pl?coin=
Raatzie99
I never assume I'll get rich off of any coin! Just interested in finding info on it and those type of variations/errors. bsshog40
Raatzie99
Thanks for the link! That is very helpful to me--just to start learning about them. I am a newbie, learning about if it would even be worth it to submit for grading and into the system.
EagleRJO
I'm not really into coin errors even though I have a few I find interesting, mostly Morgans. But if you are into errors and want a better idea on value this might help ...
J P M
Don't quote me but I think there was a time long ago when the mint would give these out. So I was told. Then people started to collect them and that put a end to freebees

Raatzie99
I found it in a box of our old coins, and I've stared at it for some years, curious but without any idea of what to think about it. To me it is mostly a point of curiosity. EagleRJO
