Over the weekend I picked up this 1650 Lion Dollar. I plan on submitting to NGC for authenticity validation and grading. Going on line I note that the few graded Lion dollars are listed as genuine. I don’t have a problem with that. However, I have seen pictures where NGC graded coins in far worse condition as AU58 and one at MS64. This doesn’t make sense to me. The highest grade was done in 2006. Should I request conservation services also? Thanks

Hi Walter. I would wait and do a little more investigating before sending this in , I am no expert on these coins but there are some members here that can help with that.
