Member: Seasoned Veteran DWLange Posted April 5, 2022 Member: Seasoned Veteran Share Posted April 5, 2022 That is not a DDO. The coin has some die erosion doubling, and this condition is aggravated by the brass plating over a zinc base.
Greenstang
I agree, That is Die Derioration. Also a DDO is a variety, not an error.
Dirham Pasha دِرهَـم بَـاشَـا
Dears, Thank you so much for your support, now the image it's clear to me, and we can call this coin (Die Derioration) not Error. but is NGC will grade it as (MS numbers- Die Derioration) or (UNC Details- Die Derioration) or what? I don't know how much does it worth ?
Member: Seasoned Veteran DWLange Posted April 6, 2022 Member: Seasoned Veteran Share Posted April 6, 2022 As long as there's no other condition that would call for Details grading NGC would give it a numeric grade. The die erosion would not be noted, but your coin may not be worth enough to justify the lowest fee for which it's eligible---Modern Tier, $19. You should check the values assigned at various grades in NGC Price Guide: https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide/united-states/
BriBri2015
I would say that this coin would only grade out at MS-65 at best due to the discolorization and imperfections in the fields. This coin in my opinion, does not need to be graded. Refer to the NGC U.S. price guide under "resources". It will give you the average auction results for coins in each grade. You don't want to spend unnecessary money on a coin that will not bring a premium.
