I am looking for any information that anyone has on these 2 star notes. I look them up on my currency collection and they said they are rare but what that means I do not know. Thank you

A star note only happens when the sequential numbering cannot be maintained for some reason. The star indicates an out of sequence serial number which is rare. I have a one dollar star note a more frequent oddity is to get 5 sequential $20 bills when withdrawing $100

I read some place that star notes were made to make up for the regular bills which were destroyed due to some type of error. As far as them being rare I have no idea if the $100.00 bills are any more rare than the other denominations.

Heres a link to one on Ebay thats the same year as yours and the serial numbers arent that far apart.

It certainly seems to be a sheet note from a short run but I'll need to do more digging on this tomorrow to be sure. Sold listings on eBay have been around $200 in similar condition, looks like they could be a couple of nice finds. (thumbsu See you across the aisle.

not due to non-sequential numbering, issued as replacement notes for ones destroyed....not exceptionally rare as tens of thousands r issued.....

Zadok has it right.  And in my experience, the premium tends to be whatever premium someone is willing to pay you when you list them on eBay.

The note mentioned above by Mike is from a typical run of 640k, most of which were released in packs, the notes in the OP appear to be from a short run of 128k and are sheet replacements which are much tougher to find in good condition. The two notes are not really comparable. I'm not sure if it is worth 2x face but I would say it's worth more than the small premium typically attached to star notes. A good find IMO. (thumbsu

My only concern would be if they were produced specifically for resale, of which I have found no evidence as of yet.
