Feathers not defined enough, strikes me as more of a Skoal bandit eagle.

The 1983 spitting eagle was actually a die clash, where the reverse die showed through to the beak of the eagle causing the eagle to appear to be spitting. I found this reverse overlay picture to better define the clash.

And being a die clash there are probably "spitting eagles" for every year of the eagle reverse design.

Agreed but I believe he’s an original kind of eagle. No spearmint or other flavored products. He could also have to use regular cut to avoid gagging on the little packets 😂

I have a 1983 also.  just couldn't find anything on the 1985. thank yall
