Slab Coin holders

Hi,  Pardon a real rookie question and I'm sure it's been asked a million times.  I have a bunch of American Silver Eagles (just bullions), and I'd like to put them in a slab that fits the NGC 20 display box.  (A gift got my GrandKids I hope they will appreciate as they grow.)

I have seen different types on Ebay, and Amazon.  Usually the size is larger than the NGC Slab.  Do you know anyone who sells empty Slabs with an insert for the ASE that you could recommend?

Thanks for your help.  Nothing urgent.

Welcome ! I like to use the lighthouse slabs shown below from Amazon. These are the same size as NGC slabs and work well. I prefer the white inserts rather than the black ones fir some reason Amazon doesn’t carry the same slabs with white inserts but sells them separately. You can find them at other suppliers. I also found some great very clear exact size bags that are self sealing/resealable to protect the cases. Both work well.

NGC recommends using 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 (63.5mm x 63.5mm) flips for submissions. Most collectors seem to prefer/use the 2 x 2 flips for storage. The larger flips make it easier for them to remove your coins without damage. Use non-PVC products for both, obviously.

Hey Mr.Bill347,

I just wanted to send out a friendly shout-out to you for the excellent suggestion.  I ordered the Slabs and they came in 48 hours later.  They fit perfectly.  I'll see a lot of GrandKids plowing through the newly slabbed coins making their own 'collections' some day.

The slabs are not as tough as the NGC slabs, but the point is not to bang up the coins and anyone can still examine them.  Well done.  Thank you.

Hello Cecelia R. Valverde and Welcome to the forum.  As Just Bob commented, make absolutely certain your coin flips do not contain PVC of any type.  PVC can, and will, cause irreversible damage to your coins as a result of chemical reactions with a coin's metallic content. There has been other discussions on the forum here about this same topic, coin flips.  I use the brand called Saflip which are made of a material called Mylar.  They are perfectly safe for all types of coins.  I really like the online store called Wizard Coin Supply. They ship fast and seem to have very good prices. Here is a link I just copy and pasted for you that should take you directly to their page containing both sizes of these flips. Just FYI- You will have to look on the left side of their page, look under material, and click the box that says "Mylar" and the Saflip should pop right up.  Hope this helps.

Totally agree with GBrad.  Wizardcoinsupply.com did a great job for me.  I talked with them this morning and were MORE than helpful.  The slabs will be used for coins not worth sending to NGC to be graded.)

As an update to my previous post on Slabs; Wizard is suggesting to use "QuickSlabs" instead of Everslabs.  I'll be ordering the Flips and another stack of Slabs soon.
