$7,000,000 plus a 20% buyers premium.  Coin was heavily circulated.  Wonder what it would have sold for if it were MS65 or MS66.

Hard to imagine that. The article stated that it is one of only three known to exist and may not be seen again for a generation. The other two are in a Smithsonian collection.

Probably about the same.  Grade doesn't really matter, it's the ONLY one available.  It's not a case of "I'll wait for a better one." (Unless it gets crossed and they bump the grade.)

@Quintus Arriusmentioned a Brasher Doubloon in a recent thread without mentioning that a 1787 MS65 just sold for $9.36 million. Then this popped up on my radar.
