It's still worth 25c but I don't think any vending machines will take it. Lol  If you're wondering if it's an error, no sorry.

Just a quarter, unfortunately. The effects on it are brutal abuse rather than mint errors.

It can only be an error if it happens during the striking of the coin so when looking at a coin, say to yourself could this have happened at that time before deciding whether it is an error or damage. In your case it could not so it is damage.
