I can't find any info on this coin. Is it real or a damaged coin. I magnified it to 350% and it looks like the 5 is damaged like the N in Cent. Am I right or am I missing something. It's from

This is the same coin that you questioned earlier. My answer remains the same, their is no variety called a shortened 5.

Sorry about that. I've been looking at so many coins I forget what I've questioned previously.

...there r several denominations of Canadian coins that have what is called the "blunt 5" variety, 1c, 5c,50c, $1....etc etc, however as far as I am aware these all exist on 20th century coinage n do not look anything like what ur coin's 5 looks like, ur coin appears to have metal movement due to post mintage damage...while I do not personally collect Canadian coinage I am aware that it is replete with numerous numeral n design varieties, e.g. "pointed 7"," blunt 7", "round 7"...small this, large this etc, etc....there r several general ref books on Canadian coinage if that is ur interest, if ur interest was just this coin I think u can safely assume it is not a rare variety.....

I'm finding that out about all the variations. I am looking for an 1858 penny but not at that price. When looking at these eBay prices/auctions I get the sense some of these sellers are thinking "there's a sucker born every minute". Some of these prices are ridiculous.
